Closure Notice

Upcoming Library Closures

Sep. 01, 2023

The library will be closed on the following dates in September:

Monday, September 4th

The library will be closed for Labour day. The library will be open the regular hours on Saturday, September 2nd.

Saturday, September 30th

The Library is closed September 30, 2023 out of respect for Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action #80 “to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process."

This day provides an opportunity for all of us to recognize and reflect on the ongoing impacts of residential schools as part of our commitment to reconciliation. This may present itself as a day of quiet reflection, education, or participation in a community event.

Community events on September 30th in the Tri-Region include:

  • Stony Plain, Heritage Park, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30pm Walk Together for Truth & Reconciliation
  • Spruce Grove, Horizon Stage, 7:30 p.m. – It Had To Be Done Documentary Screening

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity for our communities to come together, learn, and heal as we navigate our reconciliation journey. The events planned for the Tri-Municipal Region work to create safe and welcoming spaces for relationship building. We are grateful to the Elders and Knowledge Keepers who continue to share their knowledge with our communities. Everyone is encouraged to wear orange shirts on September 30th and welcome to attend a local event in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
