Winners All Around!
The pre-Christmas raffle and mini book sale was a great success for the Friends of the Stony Plain Public Library Society. How is success defined? Lots of raffle tics and books sold, lots of volunteers and Library staff working hard at both sales, and a resulting donation of the Friends to the Library kids’ programs. This year a mini book sale was held in the Library at the cost of a donation for the books, puzzles, games, CDs and videos.
Thanks to all the generous donors of baskets for the raffle: Pet Store Etc./Your Dollar Mart Plus, Plains Wine Liquor and Spirits; Stony Safeway and Stony Plain Freson Bros. A beautifully framed print was donated by Jean Goebel, and a lovely handmade Christmas quilt made and donated by Jo Ann Hall. Thanks to those who sold raffle tickets outside the Library, and to those terrific Stony businesses who sold tics: Your Dollar Mart Plus, Freson’s IGA, Stony Plain Safeway, Plains Wine Beer and Liquor Store, Stony Plain Gas and Convenience and Ladybugs Flowers. The four baskets were won by Megan S, Linda P, Andrea S and Harold W. Harold bought his winning ticket at Plains Wine Beer and Liquor Store! The quilt was won by Shauna J and the Mountain Lion print by Janet S. A very big thank you to all who bought tickets and gave donations in support of the kids' programs at the Library.
